Partial update a custom object instance (activity log records only changed fields).

Partial update of a custom object instance identified by display ID (e.g., “VEN-42”) or internal numeric ID. Only the fields in form_fields are changed; all others are preserved. The activity log records only the patched fields (not a full object diff), giving a clean audit trail.
